2 Months Old

So Porter turned two months old on Sunday, I can't believe how time flies. We blessed him Sunday and it was such a wonderful day. I took a couple pictures before church, they are not great but I couldn't resist. I took a couple yesterday in a fun little onsie from uncle Travis and aunt Hannah~~I thought Trav might enjoy them!! Porter is so cute, and growing so fast. He has been the best addition to our family I can imagine!!! I love that he knows who we are now and recognizes faces, it makes things so rewarding. It's hard to leave him for work, but so much fun to see him when I get home.

Weekly update!!

So this week has been kind of crazy we have been a little busy, but having fun!!! Last week Mykell had some fun with mom at the park, while dad was fishing. We got to tend our cousin Radley, who is sooooo cute. He was blessed on Sunday I forgot my camera so you'll have to imagine how cute he looked by his picture above, he is the baby with hair on his head!!! Then this week I started back to work. I wasn't really looking forward to it, but it had to be done. We now are getting ready for Porter's blessing on Sunday, I have a lot to do but hopefully we can get it all done!! Porter smiled for the first time this week(finally) it is so fun to have him recognize me. It kind of makes all the hard work worth it!! So I know your all dying to know, but I can finally run a mile ( I will not tell you how long it took)!!!!! Only 25.2 more to go ahhhhhhhhhhh! I know I've got a lot of hard work to do but I know I can do it.

Pictures

I think Porter's purple face really adds to the picture!!
This is my favorite of Mykell
This shows a little of her stinker face!!
Here we were telling her to show the lady her teeth (to try and get her to smile) this is what we got!
This is my favorite of Porter
Notice his cute shoes, thanks Amanda!

So I finally got the kids pictures back. They turned out better than I thought, not as good as I had hoped. I am really sad that I didn't get a good one of them together. Oh, well better luck next time I guess. I just hope that next time doesn't come too soon!!

Goals

Okay so I have decided that since I had Mykell I have kind of let all my goals and life dreams come in last, and just have been trying to take care of my family (which I'm really not complaining I love them tons!!). As many of you know I have had a tough year with my health. After Porter was born I was left not even able to walk a quarter of a mile. It has been extremely frustrating to see what a damaged condition this pregnancy has left my body in. I have been working at it, but finding it hard without some type of goal to work towards. That has left me thinking I have always wanted to run a marathon, ever since high school. Then a couple of weeks ago I watched my parents bike over 200 miles and I thought if they can do that at almost 50 (sorry mom I mean 29) why can't I run 26 miles at 27?? My major problem is not having someone to motivate me. So I decided that I'm going to blog about it weekly. Then if I don't do well that week I'm going to be a bit embarrassed. Right now I've only worked up to 3/4 of a mile, and it takes me WAY too long. My goal is to be running 5 and 10K races by the spring, increase my endurance throught the spring and summer and run in the Top of Utah marathon in one year. My wonderful friend Emily will run the races with me, but she is too far to train with so it is up to me. I know this is long, and probably really boring to most of you, but I think this can be a motivating thing for me. So here I go on a new adventure, wish me well!! (Anyone who wants to join in I would love a partner!!!)

My Husband

So my wonderful husband was reading this and told me that I must not love him because he isn't really in it a lot. So here goes!!! This is a picture of him fishing last year. He has really liked that this past year, I think it is a bit of a stress relief. He is so much fun and has been a lot of help with me this year. I would have never made it without him.

Tetons

On Sunday we drove around Grand Teton park. we stopped at Jenny Lake and let Mykell run around a bit. The view was amazing, I just can't get over how pretty it is there. We didn't get to see any wildlife, besides squirrels so that was a little disappointing. The kids slept for a bit in the car so it was nice to just be able to talk with my husband with no inturuptions for a while!! After driving we went and ate at Bubba's and then did a little shopping and went home.

Lotoja 2008

We got back from Jackson Hole last night, after helping my parents finish the Lotoja bike race for their 3rd time. It is so amazing watching them bike for over 200 miles. I really can't imagine doing it myself, maybe someday right. Well I didn't get to take many pictures, but here are a couple. One of the funnest things we did was make a cardboard cutout of my brother Brett who is on a mission and take him with us!! We did get a few laughs from others, but we had a blast. The kids were pretty good, the ride home was a bit harder, but oh, well!!

Picture Trouble

Before time number 1

I'm still a bit frustrated by this so sorry but I decided to write about it. A couple of weeks ago I decided to finally get the kids pictures taken. We went to JC Penny and had an awful time. The first trip Mykell was so bad we had to take her home, and didn't get one picture of her. The next time I brought reinforcements my mom, Josh and Elliot, our one goal was to keep Mykell happy. Well we did and and we took some great pictures. When we were all done, and waited a half hour to view them the guy that took the pictures came up to me and told me that the flash wasn't on and we would have to retake them. So me and my mom went back for time number three. Mykell wasn't nearly as good, and the lady taking the pictures was not very patient. We got some but they were not what I was hoping for, and we only got one (bad) picture of the two of them together. I think it may be time to switch portrait studio's !!

Cousins

On July 9th my Brother and Sister-in-law had their first, a little boy named Radley. He is just under three weeks older than Porter. On Friday I got to tend him, and took a couple pictures of the two of them. I'm so excited that Porter gets a cousin the same age. They will have lots of fun!! Unfortunately all the pictures that we took of them one of them is crying! Elliot's uncle passed away last week, and we attended the funeral in Bountiful this past week. Elliot's mom was there and we got some pictures of "Grandma Debbie" holding the two of them, kind of an armful huh!!
